Behind ADVIT

Urmas Kungla

IT manager and IT consultant. My starting point is simple: good IT should not be complicated. Access, work tools, websites, cloud services and security must be understandable and manageable.

Urmas Kungla, IT manager and IT consultant

I have worked with IT and digital systems for more than 19 years. That includes Baltic-wide IT management in the international energy and industrial sector, responsibility for critical public-sector information systems, and coordination of web and e-commerce projects with teams in several countries.

ADVIT OÜ is my company: one accountable person supported by a trusted partner network. I do most of the work myself; when a project requires it, I bring in specialists and assemble the right team. I document the work so that solutions never depend on one person’s memory.

My clients are usually growing Estonian companies that do not need a full-time IT manager but do want someone to take responsibility for technology decisions and day-to-day IT. For larger organisations, I have also worked as an interim IT manager and project manager.

What I work on

Selected roles and projects

Two roles have shaped the way ADVIT works most strongly:

Adven — Baltic IT Manager (energy sector)

I led the implementation and operation of group-wide IT management processes across the Baltic countries: shared processes, vendor and SLA management, and daily collaboration with teams in several countries and languages.

SMIT — Estonian Ministry of the Interior IT and Development Centre

I joined during the organisation’s launch phase, helping to build functions, processes and working relationships and to deliver IT projects supporting Estonia’s internal security.
