When you need this service
This service is for situations where IT decisions are made as they arise and systems are running, but nobody owns the whole picture. Typical signs include:
- IT decisions are made in a hurry and everyone solves problems in their own way.
- It is unclear which cloud services and partners to choose, or whether the current ones are right.
- Vendor contracts and SLAs have not been reviewed, and nobody knows exactly what the company is paying for.
- There is no dependable person to contact when a technical problem occurs.
- Systems work, but their configuration and logic exist only in one person’s head.
What the service includes
Support for technology decisions
I help select cloud services, tools and partners based on business needs and budget, not only on technical features.
One day-to-day point of contact (SPOC)
I am the dependable contact for technical questions, incidents and vendor communication — one person accountable for the whole.
Vendor and contract management
I maintain an overview of service providers, contracts and SLAs and communicate with vendors in your company’s interests.
Processes and incidents
I organise incident handling and IT processes so that problems are resolved and do not quietly keep recurring.
Documentation and continuity
Decisions and configurations are documented so that system continuity does not depend on one person’s memory.
How the engagement works
We always begin by mapping the current situation: accounts, access, cloud services, vendors and work processes. Based on that, we agree the monthly scope and priorities. Work then follows an agreed rhythm — ongoing decisions and support, regular status reviews, and explanations in plain language rather than technical jargon. The exact scope and terms are tailored to your company’s needs.
Outcome: your company has an IT manager without the cost of a full-time position — someone who maintains the big picture, owns decisions and is available when needed.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from ordinary IT support?
IT support resolves individual issues after they occur. IT management as a service means ownership of the whole: decisions, prevention, vendors, budget and continuity. I can cover both roles when needed.
Do you replace our current IT partner or work with them?
Either is possible. Existing partners often remain in place while I coordinate their work from the company’s side. Vendors gain a clear contact, and the company knows someone is protecting its interests.
What size of company is this suitable for?
Typically a company with 5–50 people, where a full-time IT manager would be excessive but occasional support is not enough. My background in international IT management also allows me to support a larger organisation as an interim IT manager or project manager.
